Phantom One
I went out of the building, very angry, talking to myself, “Who do you think you are? You force me to drive all the way out here, just to tell me sorry we can’t help you with that?” I was wearing a light blue white dress. My hair was long, having few curled tufts. I walked fast with my heels, holding my phone, trying to call my sister, then I opened my white Porsche car’s door and went inside. I turned it on and started driving, holding my phone trying to call. “Why aren’t you picking up?” I said to the phone screen. Then I tried to call my mom with my right hand, and driving with my left hand. As I was distracted with my phone, a car came from the opposite direction fast and was about to hit me. I immediately turned my direction to the very right and he turned his direction to the very left so we won’t hit each other. Then I hit the brakes in a very sudden way, so the car drifted. I closed my eyes in a mad way then said, “That’s what I’ve been missing tonight.”
I went out checking my car. My car was fine, nothing happened. The man got out of his Ferrari car and looked at me. I closed my eyes after checking the car to calm myself down, then looked at him, shouting as if I was right, “Are you mentally okay? Didn’t you see me coming?” “Look who’s talking! You were holding the phone, of course you wouldn’t focus on the street line.” He replied. I know I was wrong, but I kept fighting back, “You have to thank god that I don’t have enough time right now to continue this ridiculous argument. I have to leave.” Then I went to my car and half opened its door. Then he ran over and hit my car’s door in a strong way, closing it back, preventing me from getting in, and said, “But I have time.”
I looked at him in a way I wanted to kill him, “Are you crazy?” He kept looking in a very cold way. “Get away from my car. I need to get there.” “I don’t care, I need you to fix my car.” “What? I didn’t do anything to your car!” “Yes you did, come and see.” Then he went towards his car. I looked at him, making sure he went a little bit further. Then I went into my car, locked the doors and drove fast. He started laughing, then said to himself, “So you want to race, I’m down for it.” I held my phone again trying to call my sister. No one answered. “Answer this damn call.” I said while shouting. Few seconds later I saw that man’s car behind me, flashing its front lights. I looked in the mirror and he was laughing. I drove faster. Then he drove faster to reach me and started driving next to me honking. I drove faster ignoring him. Then he drove faster than me and passed my car and changed his lane to mine, so his car came in front of my car on the same lane.
I moved to the left lane and drove faster to move away from him, then he did the same and again moved to my lane in front of me. I honked at him, opened my window and shouted, “Get the hell away from my way.” Then he raised his hand from his window and did a hand movement like cutting me off. “Ouuuf.” I said, and honked madly, then moved to the right lane. And passed by his car and said through the window, “You’re dead.” Then I made a sudden turn to the left, making him feel that I would hit his expensive car. He went to the very left and forgot there was a car next to him, he crashed with that car. I looked in the rear view mirror, he seemed to be okay. I wasn’t sure, but I really got his car ruined this time. Then I drifted and drove as fast as I could. I couldn’t take my breath.
A hospital door opened and I went in, heading to the receptionist, “My mom was taken here, can you tell me what room she is in?” “Yes of course, may I have her name? It’s Julie, Julie Melark.” She took some time checking, then replied, “We took her to the surgery room.” I put my hand on my forehead and I ran over to the surgery room. “Ceylin.” I said in a worried way, she ran over to me and hugged me crying. Her clothes were filled with blood. “She was lying with the blood all over her.” “Shhh. calm down, calm down.” Then the door of the surgery room opened and one of the nurses came out. We both looked at her, she went running, we couldn’t talk to her. Few seconds she came back with blood bags. She went in. I sat on the chair trying to take my breath. I couldn’t, so I stood up and said to my sister, “I’ll be waiting outside, if any updates happen, just call me. Don’t go anywhere, stay here. I just can’t take my breath.” She shook her head in the meaning of (Yes).
I went outside. I raised my head up, looking at the sky, then started crying. That man was standing far away watching me. Then he remembered, after the car crash, he called someone on the phone, “Bring me all the information about a girl owning a Porsche model 2023 the car number is 292929 immediately.” Then the man who he crashed with, walked towards him shouting, “Are you mentally crazy, or what? You were about to kill me, I will make you regret the moment you were born in.” The man who was racing me looked at him and picked up his checks and wrote him a check with 1000 000 dollars. He gave the check to him and said, “I guess this is enough to even forget my face. Or?” Then he showed off his gun on his waist under his jacket. The other man took the check, “Tonight nothing happened at all, I was just not focusing while driving, have a good night sir.” Then the man who raced me looked at him and went back into his car and started driving. Then he received a call, “Did you find her?” “Yes, her car is parked next to the hospital.” “What hospital?” Then he stopped remembering and kept watching me.
The next morning, me and my sister were still wearing our night dresses and were waiting in the hospital. None of us slept. She stayed inside the hospital and I stayed outside on the chair the whole night. I went inside to give her a sandwich, “Here, eat it.” She looked at me and took it slowly, and said, “Do you think she’s going to be okay?” I looked at her, “She will.” I replied. Both of our eyes were teary. My breath started to feel like choking. I said, “I will stay outside, do you need anything?” She shook her head in the meaning of (No) while eating a bite. I kissed her on the head and left. When I went outside the man I raced with was waiting in his car, watching. After half an hour or so, I looked at my watch, then went inside. My sister was sleeping on the chair. I stayed a little bit inside, then the surgery room door opened. My sister woke up. We ran over to the doctor, “Doctor?” I asked. She looked at both of us and said, “We did our best, but may her soul rest in peace.” “No.” My sister said, and hugged me crying. I stood in my place shocked. And slowly my tears started falling, then I hugged her.
After a few minutes, my sister went to the bathroom to wash her face. I went outside as I can’t bear the hospital's smell, that’s where I burst out crying so hard over mom. Then I sat on the chair crying more and more. Few seconds later, I saw a very expensive pair of shoes of a man standing in front of me, giving me a napkin saying, “May her soul rest in peace.” I raised my head looking at him. He was the same man who tried to race me last night, with his Ferrari black car. I kept looking at him with my teary eyes, without saying a word.
